2019 jaguar XE 35t. The upcoming 2019 XE 35t lineup can now be reserved. It includes two new variants a 247hp turbo with a four-cylinder engine and an S model with a supercharged 380hp V6 engine. Jaguar’s new XE 35t compact sports sedan just launched in the United States last year, and already it is the recipient of several updates for 2019. The base 25t model gets an all-new inline-four plucked from Jaguar’s Ingenium powertrain family, while there’s now a range-topping XE 35t S model with more horsepower than the previously top-dog XE 35t variant. Jaguar also added a new digital gauge cluster display and padded the options sheet with a few extra active-safety and convenience features.
Other minor updates include a newly available hands-free power trunklid that opens in response to under-bumper footsie and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster display on models equipped with the InControl Touch Pro infotainment system. The XE 35t’s surround-camera parking option nets a few new functions, including forward cross-traffic detection and additional parking guidance.
Promotional financing on a 2018 or 2019 jaguar XE 35t continues to start at 1.9% APR for up to 60 months, and the extra bonus mentioned above is compatible with this rate. While Jaguar’s new budget four-cylinder is noteworthy, the real news is at the other end of XE 35t offerings. New to the 35t range are the options-rich limited-edition Portfolio trim and the performance-oriented S, which at 380 horsepower is a 40-hp bump over other 35ts.
Jaguar offers the XE 35t with the choice of three engines. The base model uses a new-for-2019 jaguar XE 35t 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder. Dubbed the 25t, it produces 247 hp and 269 pound-feet of torque and returns 25 miles per gallon in the city, 34 on the highway, and 28 combined. This engine is available on all but the range-topping XE 35t S trim. The 20d uses a 2.0-liter, turbo diesel four-cylinder to develop 180 hp and 318 lb-ft of torque the EPA hasn’t gotten around to evaluating this engine’s fuel economy, but it should easily be the most efficient XE 35t.
Like the 25t, the diesel engine is available on XE 35t, XE 35t Premium, XE 35t Prestige, and XE 35t R-Sport models. Finally, the 35t uses Jaguar’s popular 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to produce either 340 or 380 hp, depending on which trim level you select. The 340-hp version is available on the XE 35t Premium, XE 35t Prestige, and XE 35t R-Sport, where it returns up to 21 mpg city and 30 mpg highway for 24 mpg combined. Jaguar limits the 380-hp engine to the range-topping XE 35t S trim.
