2019 Jaguar XJ220. The original model surprised the world when it was unveiled at the British Motor Show in 1988. Its hugging ground shape, aerodynamics inspired by racing and incredible V12 knock all super boxes. The list of specs only served to the appetite further – the promise of a four-wheel drive and adaptive commentary was the auto press in rape. It is fitting that another of the super monsters must also be bigger, faster, and certainly the most striking. Appropriate, too, that this, the most expensive of them all, should be the best. The Jaguar XJ220 has a nearly legendary state among Jaguar lovers – but not for all the right reasons. It should have been the height of the company’s road vehicle range, but never achieved its potential.
This is what really distinguishes 2019 Jaguar XJ220 from most Italian exotica – the British car is very convenient. It’s the Quirrer than you think, a tricky ride, civilized. The old Jaguar grace is preserved with the logo of the pace of honor. Here is a 200 mph beast that can be cruelly transported to you, and a friend, to the south of France. It’s also roomy – not always the case with supercars mid-drives. There is a decent sitting room and plenty of shoulder room, and a partial part of the huge size of the car – 7ft 3in cross beam. Which, by the way, makes it the world’s largest car production. This also means that the 2019 Jaguar XJ220 is physically unable to fit through the traffic display restrictions in London.
Jag is huge in almost everything, too. It’s more than 16ft long, just a short tad from the XJ6 salon, which can accommodate three additional people and has a much larger boot. It weighs a little less than a ton and a half. Its four-wheel drive four-liter 24-liter 3.5-liter V6 twin-turbo engine, based on the Chero-11 sports car racer, pumps 542bhp. This is a powerful production of any car production way. The real 212.3mph, was recorded in the production trim.
And finally – and despite the most massive of all – 2019 Jaguar XJ220 costs £415,544 in the UK, including taxes. There was no new production car more ingenious. 350 cars have been sold from now until the end of next year.
